New housing policies in California

A myriad of new tenant and housing-related policies are coming into effect in California in January of 2020, and many impacted stakeholders are unsure, unclear and unaware of the implications.

Many new tenant and housing-related policies come into effect in California in January 2020. In general, the new rules give more protection to tenants against eviction and rent increases, and they make it easier to build lower-cost housing, particularly--but not only--on under-used public land.
