Sustainable Sonoma and Generation Housing weigh in on City of Sonoma housing rules

Sustainable Sonoma and Generation Housing urged the City of Sonoma to use its policies to better promote and support housing affordability, in two letters submitted ahead of a March 15 City Council/Planning Commission meeting.

SuSo's letter highlighted strategies from our recently published report, Homes for a Sustainable Sonoma Valley: Strategic Recommendations for Our Community, including calling on the City to update its development code "... so that its language guarantees actual construction and preservation of homes that are denser, taller, more affordable, socially integrated, and transit-oriented”.

Additionally, SuSo's letter seconded the points made in the letter submitted by Generation Housing.
