The SVCDC may be a new entity, or possibly an expanded version of an existing entity. Organizations such as those below will be key in creating or adapting organizational structures to decide the best entity.

  • Sonoma County Housing Fund

  • City of Sonoma 

  • Generation Housing

  • Renewal Enterprise District 

  • Faith-based organizations & community land trusts

As a first phase of work to demonstrate the value of a SVCDC, a small group of Sonoma Valley’s highly skilled and motivated volunteers could form a steering committee that 1) crafts a pilot portfolio of 1 - 3 feasible new-construction and/or rehabilitation projects and 2) creates the business and governance plan for launching the second phase, which includes a legal entity, board, and staff.
