  • California Housing Partnership – A statewide nonprofit that assists in strategizing and securing funding for affordable housing preservation

  • National Housing Law Project – Non-profit law firm based in S.F. with a national reach that has a strong history of advising on preservation strategies from a legal standpoint.

  • National Low Income Housing Coalition – National non-profit (based in Washington, D.C.) that tracks affordable housing production and preservation. NLIHC will have deep expertise and knowledge of preservation efforts around the country and which models work best.

  • Novogradac – National (for-profit) company that has one of the most robust portfolios of affordable housing clients and advises on compliance and strategy. Their services include non-profit consulting. Novogradac or a similar entity may be helpful to advise on potential purchase or transitioning from a mortgage-based subsidy to the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit.

  • Redwood Credit Union / Local Finance Entity – A purchase will require financing that may necessitate the involvement of a third-party bank to underwrite a loan

  • Burbank Housing – Sonoma County’s largest non-profit housing provider which may be a critical partner, either by being the purchaser outright or the manager of the affordable complex.

  • North Bay Organizing Project / Sonoma County Tenants Union – Local tenant organizers who can help get popular support for housing preservation
