Cost will depend on the size of each complex and the number of affordable units that must be preserved. For this reason, a local government will almost certainly have to be involved to help secure local, state, or federal funding, perhaps with a local partner like Redwood Credit Union or Self Help Credit Union. For campaign purposes, however, the strategy will likely cost $50,000–100,000 over five years to organize residents, create materials promoting preservation, and host multiple meetings/events to organize key stakeholders.
