For the campaign: Likely $0 to 20,000 to fund a simple campaign, including several coalition meetings and potentially a part time consultant. Funding levels will determine the breadth and activities sponsored under a campaign. While a consultant may be helpful, this is not necessary given the many examples that exist.

The rental registry will have startup costs and annual maintenance costs. Based on a 2024 quote from 3Di, a full rental registry will cost approximately $30,000 in one-time startup costs. After the initial startup, the registry will cost between $5-15 per unit per year. (Patrick McDonell at Legal Aid has a copy of the 3Di quote sent to Sonoma County for reference.) With economies of scale, the cost per unit goes down. So an important goal is to encourage the City and the County, or multiple jurisdictions across the North Bay, to use the same registry to reduce the cost.
